Life, as articulated by K.C. Swami, embodies the essence of existence—the soul that engages in movement, nourishment, growth, reproduction, and ultimately, decline. Death signifies the cessation of these vital activities, yet it is crucial to understand that the soul transcends the physical realm; it represents a higher, living energy that animates the body and infuses the material world with meaning.
Life is not simply a collection of physical elements; it is the soul that ignites movement, fosters growth, and imparts purpose to our surroundings. Inanimate substances like gold, steel, and grain remain lifeless until they are enlivened by the touch of a living being. At the core of all existence lies the Supreme Soul, the source of oceans, planets, sunlight, and the abundance of food that sustains us.
As Krishna eloquently expresses in the Bhagavad-Gita, the cycle of existence reveals that beings are unseen before birth, visible during life, and unseen once more after death—thus, there is no reason to mourn. Death is not a conclusion; rather, life is an eternal journey. When we liberate ourselves from the illusions of the material world, we return to our true home—the spiritual realm—where liberated souls experience everlasting joy in the presence of Lord Krishna.
Therefore, we mustn't squander this precious human life on transient material pursuits; instead, we should strive to seek the eternal, for in Krishna lies the ultimate source, sustenance, and destiny of all existence.
